My career journey began in the realm of Information Technology (IT), where I had the opportunity to work for three major global companies—HP, Micron, and Microsoft. Over the years, I held various IT roles, from engineer to manager and director. Throughout my three-decade career, I found great fulfillment in coaching and mentoring engineers and leaders. Eventually, I retired after 29 years, having reached that milestone at the age of 49.

It was during my career that I encountered my own financial struggles, despite earning a substantial income. I was living paycheck to paycheck, grappling with over $30,000 in credit card debt and multiple car payments. This was a pivotal moment in my journey, prompting me to seek a transformation. I embarked on a quest for financial knowledge, drawing inspiration from church teachings and the wisdom of industry leader Dave Ramsey. In less than eight years, I transitioned from a negative net worth to a net worth millionaire with only a single family income. My transformation was marked by the pursuit of higher education, culminating in the attainment of an MBA from Boise State University.

As I navigated this financial transformation, I found a deep passion for helping others on their journeys to financial wellness. I began coaching and mentoring others and co-facilitated Financial Peace University with my wife for seven years, fostering a community dedicated to financial peace and prosperity.

One of the most profound lessons I've gleaned from my faith is the importance of self-reliance and the significance of paying an honest tithe. These principles have profoundly impacted my life, transforming my once-stressed and contentious financial discussions with my bride into harmonious and peaceful exchanges.

The stability that sound financial management provides allows us to serve and give of our time more freely, promoting the growth of God's kingdom. It equips us to plan and embark on missions and affords us more time for scriptures and devotion to our Savior. Our faith has guided us to embrace a debt-free lifestyle, be prepared for unforeseen challenges, and eagerly anticipate the return of Jesus Christ.
